Join accessABILITY, an Indianapolis based non-profit welcoming individuals around the country, as we host Dis-Queer, a peer-led, peer-supported safe space for LGBTQIA+ people with disabilities to connect and learn together.
LGBTQIA+ individuals with disabilities often report feeling isolated from both the LGBTQIA+ and disability communities, as well as a lack of education on issues such as relationships and sexual health that fits their needs. Each month we’ll cover a specific topic, where we’ll share resources, insight and personal stories to learn and grow together as advocates. Topics will be based on the interests and concerns of group members.
This group is for peers who: 1) Identify as having a disability, and 2) Identify as being part of the LGBTQIA+ community or are currently questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity. In order to keep this group a safe space, we ask that those who do not identify with these two things not attend.
