No More Negotiation: A Disability Justice Workshop (Part 2)

Join accessABILITY in celebrating Disability Awareness Month by learning about Disability Justice. This virtual 1.5 hour training is the second half of a two-part training on the disability community (you do not need to attend the first half to come to this training).

In this workshop, we will learn how to become disability allies through:

• Talking about Disability: Every disability has different needs, and it’s important to acknowledge specific needs without dividing the larger community as a whole.
• Shifting Language & Behaviors: Words and actions are often rooted in bias, uncovering them and shifting them can make individuals with disabilities more comfortable and included in the spaces I occupy.
• Enabling vs. Empowering: By trusting in other’s ability and autonomy, we can change our relationships with the disability community and beyond.
